APERITIVO
2009
Proposal for a system to serve Peroni Beer and Aperitivo foods in a resolved and elegant manner. The project was a collaboration between Alessi and Peroni. The design ambition was to create a system that would improve social navigation while providing a platform for positive brand presence.

Like an illuminated taxi sign, light indicates availability. The Aperitivo Tray, when placed over the central light, indicates that a table is occupied and the holes in the bottom of the tray allow the light source to illuminate the bottles or glasses creating a soft light, as an alternative to a candle.
How should Aperitivo be served? The best thing is to promote the sociability and this conviviality of aperitivo. A large plate with all the different choices, that is the best way. __ Giorgio Locatelli The Aperitivo Tray is designed to be easily carried with either one or both hands.

Table top - The table top is an opaque material that limits the light spillage from the rotomoulded light source.
Rotomolded light table - A translucent Polyethylene rotationally moulded volume that houses a cool light source (LED or Energy Saving Fluorescent). Alternatively, for low volume/prototype production this component could be produced by means of vacuum forming.
The trays are stackable and can also be used with glasses rather than bottles if preferred.
